Wednesday November 22, 2006 Police Board to meet next Tuesday Toronto: The next scheduled meeting of the Toronto Police Services Board will take place on Tuesday November 28 at 1:30 PM in the Auditorium, 40 College Street. Copies of the agenda are available on the Board's website www.torontopoliceboard.on.ca and limited copies are available at the meeting. Items of interest include: Health Risk and Productivity Assessment Report The Board will hear a presentation regarding a Health Risk and Productivity Assessment conducted by Connex for the Toronto Police Service as part of the Workplace Health Assessment Process. The assessment examined a number of areas such as lifestyle practices, obesity, stress and risk factors and provided recommendations to improve organizational and employee health. Employment Systems Review The Board will hear a presentation and consider a report from the Chief regarding an Employment Systems Review. This review was conducted as a result of a plan approved by the Board to ensure that the Service's promotional processes for uniform members are barrier-free and reflect openness, transparency and fairness. The report includes 95 recommendations to address systemic barriers identified through the Review. "Don't Ask" Policy The Board will hear a deputation regarding concerns about the implementation of the Board's "Don't' Ask" policy. The deputation will be made by representatives from the Canadian Border Services Agency. Board Advisory Panel on Community Safety The Board will consider an update report from the Chair on the Board Advisory Panel on Community Safety. This report recommends approval of the Advisory Panel's mandate and identifies the key areas of its work. Procedural Review of Concerns Related to Special Task Force The Board will receive a report from the Chief on the results of the procedural review of the investigation carried out by a Special Task Force led by RCMP Chief Superintendent John Neily.
