HOMICIDES – ASSISTANCE PROVIDED TO FAMILIES
The Board will consider a report from the Chair regarding recommendations for changes to assist families of homicide victims. These changes are a response to a presentation made to the Board by Mr. Alan Dudeck and a subsequent meeting held to discuss his recommendations. In the report, the Chair recommends requesting the Chief to modify procedures. He also recommends requesting the Attorney General to increase the funding provided to the Toronto Victim Services Program and requesting the Chief Coroner for Ontario to consider Mr. Dudeck’s recommendations.

CLOSED CIRCUIT TELEVISION
The Board will consider a report from the Chief regarding the phased-in implementation plan that has been developed for the Service’s Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) program. The plan consists of three phases which include continuing the use of cameras, engaging existing partnerships to develop protocols and standards and leveraging CCTV assets held by other government entities in the City of Toronto.

SEMI-ANNUAL REPORT – SEXUAL ASSAULT INVESTIGATIONS
The Board will consider a semi-annual report from the Chief regarding the review of sexual assault investigations. This report outlines the progress of the implementation of the Auditor General’s recommendations contained in his follow-up report. The recommendations detail changes in Service procedures and processes as well as training, education, technology and community outreach and consultation.

COMMUNITY CONSULTATIVE GROUPS
The Board will consider a report from the Chief regarding community consultative groups. This report is in response to a Board policy that requires the Service to respond every three years on the process by which the Service implements the criteria identified to renew the Service’s consultative groups and to measure their effectiveness, and to examine the adequacy of the resources currently being provided. The report states that the Service has been and continues to remain committed to an effective and constructive community consultative process and that the process is appropriately funded.
