Who is the Board accountable to? |
|
The Board is accountable to both the community and to the Ontario Civilian Commission on Police Services (OCCPS).
Under the Police Services Act, OCCPS can inquire into and report on the conduct or the performance of a member of a Police Services Board. After conducting its investigation, OCCPS can hold a hearing and if they decide that a member of a Board is guilty of misconduct or is not performing or is incapable of performing the duties in a satisfactory manner, OCCPS can remove or suspend the Board member.
Complaints against Board members should be directed to the Chair of OCCPS, 25 Grosvenor Avenue, 1st Floor, Toronto, Ontario, M7A 2H3.
