Chief Demkiw Provides Update to Toronto Police Service Board on Actions Taken in Response to Project South

Toronto, ON – The Toronto Police Service Board advises that Chief Myron Demkiw has added a report to the agenda of tomorrow’s Board meeting outlining actions taken to address matters arising from Project South.

The report, titled “Update on ‘Project South’ and the Toronto Police Service’s Organizational Response”, provides an update to the Board on steps implemented to strengthen oversight, accountability, and operational controls. The Board expects to consider this report as the first item of business when it convenes its public meeting at 1:30 p.m.

The Board remains focused on ensuring appropriate accountability, transparency, and public confidence in the governance and oversight of the Toronto Police Service. The Board will review the Chief’s report carefully and determine any further directions, as appropriate, within its governance mandate.

The meeting will be held at Toronto Police Headquarters and streamed live on YouTube.
