STATEMENT REGARDING BARGAINING FROM THE TORONTO POLICE SERVICES BOARD
Date: 2007-12-07 13:15:43

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
December 7, 2007

Toronto - The Toronto Police Services Board is deeply disappointed by what transpired at today’s scheduled bargaining session with the Toronto Police Association.

We have met for several days already and have engaged in good, productive dialogue on a range of issues. Another meeting was scheduled for today. We were looking forward to discussing key issues of importance to our members.

The Association walked out before bargaining started.

The Board remains committed to the bargaining table and bargaining process to resolve our issues. We believe that the Association and the Board have a responsibility to deal across the table to arrive at a fair result for Association members, residents and taxpayers. We remain committed to achieving such a resolution through the collective bargaining process.
